WHO ARE WE?

WHO ARE THE MUSAAFIRS?
Our Muslim Scouts group has been running for over nine years, formed in response to the growing need and demand within our local community for a safe, supportive, and faith-aligned space for young people. We believe the Scouting laws and principles naturally align with core Islamic values—such as honesty, kindness, service to others, respect for nature, and personal responsibility. This harmony provides a strong moral foundation that benefits both young people and adults, helping them develop character, strengthen their faith, and contribute positively to society. Over the years, we’ve built a welcoming environment where children gain confidence, leadership skills, teamwork, and outdoor experience, all while staying grounded in values that guide them throughout life.
We meet weekly at our dedicated Scout Hut in Neasden.
SAFETY & SAFEGUARDING
At Scouts, safety and safeguarding are our top priorities. All volunteers are fully DBS-checked and must complete essential training, including safeguarding and health and safety, to ensure a safe and supportive environment for every young person. We follow strict policies and procedures to protect children and young people, giving parents and carers confidence that Scouts is a secure, welcoming place where young people can learn, explore, and have fun safely.
MEMBERSHIP
Our membership policy is designed to keep things simple and transparent. Termly fees of £45 are collected at the start of each term to cover the costs of activities, resources, and events. We are also Gift Aid eligible, which means that if you are a UK taxpayer, we can claim extra funds from the government at no additional cost to you — helping us provide even more opportunities and experiences for our Scouts. This ensures that every child can benefit from high-quality, safe, and fun Scouting activities throughout the year.
VOLUNTEER LED & NOT-FOR-PROFIT
Scouts’ volunteers are passionate, caring, and adventurous adults who give their time to guide young people through fun, challenges, and life-changing experiences. They can be leaders, helpers, or specialists, bringing skills from all walks of life to inspire Scouts of all ages. Volunteering with Scouts isn’t just about giving — it’s a chance to learn new skills, meet amazing people, take part in exciting activities, and make a real difference in young people’s lives. Whether running a campfire, teaching navigation, or leading a community project, volunteers experience the joy of helping others grow while building confidence, friendships, and memories that last a lifetime.
We are always looking for new volunteers to join our Scouts and be part of our exciting, inspiring family and community! Volunteers come from all walks of life and can take on a variety of roles, including Leaders, Assistants, Helpers and Trustees.
If you can only occasionally help, that’s OK. Whether you’d like to be an activity planner, tea-maker or craft creator, we appreciate any time you can spare.
